A crazy summer comedy from Hoštice, South Bohemia, based on the 1983 film by Zdeněk Troška and Petr Markov.
The plot of the musical, like the film, takes place in the South Bohemian village of Hoštice, to whose JZD comes to work as a temporary worker a student of agricultural college Šimon Plánička. He wants to try out his experiment on "cow milking in relation to the culture of the environment", in other words, he wants to let the cows listen to music while milking. However, the management of the JZD does not want to hear about this strange experiment. So Simon tries his luck with parish priest Otik, the experiment works and the parish priest's cow milks a miraculous amount of milk. Blažena, the daughter of Mrs. Škopková, with whom Simon is staying, has the task of finding out how things are going. Everything is confused by the jealousy of Blažena's boyfriend Vency, who thinks that Blažena is having a baby with Simon and not with him. On top of that, word gets around the village that Simon is the son of the chairman of the regional agricultural administration. So there is no shortage of plots that bring a lot of comic and funny situations.
The music, lyrics and musical libretto were created by Ondřej G. Brzobohatý, for whom this is the second original musical performed at the Karlín Musical Theatre.
Premiere at the Karlín Musical Theatre in June 2022.
UNDERSTUDY
An understudy, or understudy, is a performer who rehearses a specific role in a production but does not perform regularly in it. This understudy is then ready to step into the role at any time if the original performer is unable to perform due to injury, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances. The understudy is therefore an important part of the production and steps in when we would otherwise have to cancel the performance. Understudy attends all rehearsals of the production with the main cast so that he or she has thoroughly rehearsed a particular role and is ready to perform at any time.
