Světlana Nálepková was born on July 2, 1960 in Prague, where she also studied at the Music and Drama Conservatory. From 1980-89 she was a guest at the Ypsilon Theatre, from 1993 she spent four seasons at the Karlín Musical Theatre, and from 1979-1989 she worked in M. Nesvadba's pantomime group Mimtrio. Her most successful independent projects include Snow White on a Trampoline (1986), Tenhleten Manhattan and Other Side Signs (1990), Marlene - Marlene Dietrich's Songs Sung by S. Nálepková (1995). She has made over 300 productions, series, fairy tales and entertainment programmes for TV. As a singer, she fell in love with the songs of the 1920s and 1950s. On CD she released the titles Marlene, Love is a Fata Morgana, I am a girl born in rhythm, Don't Regret - the most beautiful songs of Édith Piaf sung by Svetlana Nálepková" and Love Returns. She can currently be seen in the musicals Love to Death - an intimate musical about the legend of French chanson E. Piaf, Frida Kahló - a cabaret of life about the famous Mexican painter and activist Frida Kahló, in the chamber recital Good Year, as a mother featured in the musical Sister in Action or as Madame Morrible in The Witch. Svetlana performs not only in Prague theatres, but also in performances all over the Czech Republic.
