Marek Kryštof

He is a conductor, composer, lyricist, arranger and jazz pianist. He is a long-time member of HDK, Studio Two, guest conductor of the ČNSO and conductor of DJKT in Pilsen. He continuously composes for concert halls, theatres, TV, film, Czech Radio and regularly performs his works with many Czech orchestras. Both violin concertos, a piano concerto, a cycle of symphonic songs, as well as a concerto for English horn or harp. Last year, he also premiered a concert performance of The Little Prince with the KSO, which was presented by Studio Two with J. Cina in the lead role. Since 2016, he has created many symphonic, vocal-instrumental works for the annual Navalis Festival. This year he performed a new work, the oratorio Five Stars. His collaboration with the Czech Radio is significant, in which he has produced more than forty musical dramatizations. As a composer of music and song lyrics, he has long collaborated with the Studio DVA theatre - e.g. Christmas Carol and The Little Prince. He is a regular guest at the IMF Prague Proms. He has also presented his compositions at prestigious jazz festivals in Montreux and London. In 2022, he arranged and conducted the tour of Lucie at the Opera. He has released many CDs, most of which are available on Spotify and other platforms, e.g. Legends of Magical Prague; A Christmas Carol; The Little Prince, etc. He is the winner of the Czech Lion for his music for the film Masaryk.
