She graduated from the State Conservatory in Prague, majoring in opera singing. Already in the 6th grade she won the lead role of Maria in West Side Story in HDK. She has been performing on the Karlin stage since 1970, but has also been a guest at the National Theatre in Brno, Mor. Olomouc, Div. J. K. Tyl in Pilsen, etc. During that time she has created almost 60 major roles. Audiences all over the country know her as Adele in The Bat, Helena in Polish Blood, Rosemarie and Valencia in The Merry Widow, Denise in Mam'zelle Nitouche, Magnolia in The Ship of Comedians, Hortensia in The Opera Ball, Lisa in My Fair Lady, etc. At the time of her engagement she won 2 Literary Fund prizes. In 1980 she completed a singing internship in Siena, Italy, at the Academia Chigiana. She has five individual vocal recitals on CD (The Magic World of Operetta, I Would Only Like to Dance, I Call, I Wait, I Believe, The Gift and The Holiday) and has participated in many other albums. She is the recipient of four Golden Records. In 1996, her autobiography, Such Am I, was published. In HDK she won the Thalia Award in 2007 for the role of Anhilte (The Princess of Chardash). She also acts or has acted in such productions as Carmen, Polish Blood, Mam'Zelle Nitouche, Sister in Action, The Merry Widow, The Addams Family and Rebels. In 2017, she received the Thalia Award for Lifetime Achievement. And my personal phrase... I like honest, humble and optimistic people.
