Goldilocks

The Karlín Musical Theatre is pleased to announce the premiere of the musical fairy tale "Goldilocks", which will appear on the Little Stage this April. The inspiration for this magical performance was the original classic fairy tale by K. J. Erben, which was revived for a modern audience by Jan Pixa.

The audience is in for a return to the beloved melodies of A. Mikhailov with Krečmar's lyrics, which became iconic thanks to the 1973 film adaptation with P. Štěpánek and J. Kotrbová. For example, "That's how it goes in our castle", "It's just me", "I'll give you a ring". In this new production, we will also try to win Goldilocks together with Jiříek the cook, with the help of our faithful friends ants, ravens, goldfish and a fly, charmingly portrayed by children from the Muse Musical Studio in Karlin.

And because Little Stage's main goal is to support children and youth, it brings an exciting mix of new actors and seasoned veterans not only to the auditorium but also to the stage. Promising names will appear in the title roles of Goldilocks and Jiřík alongside experienced actors such as Bronislav Kotiš, Dušan Kollár, Oldřich Kříž and Martin Sochor.

Filip Renč is behind the director's desk, whose personal input and creativity the theatre greatly appreciates and expects to bring a new dimension to the fairy tale. The stage and costume magic this time is devised by Petr Hloušek and Roman Šolc with innovative puppet theatre for ravens, ants and goldfish.
