Jeden den u Dvořáků

Accept our cordial invitation to the Dvořák family. To visit the large family of composer Antonín Dvořák in their house in Vysoká u Příbram. It is 7th September 1896, the day before the celebration of the famous composer's 55th birthday. Together with his wife, his six children and the young violinist Josef Suk, you will be actively involved in the birthday preparations, you will see what they did, how they played, how they sang, what they liked to cook, how they dressed, what Dvořák's children's interests were, how they misbehaved. And above all, you will hear what the master composed and what he received from the children for his birthday. And we don't have to go all the way to Vysoká, we will bring everyone and everything to the Small Stage of the Musical Theatre in Karlín and remember one of our best and most famous composers, his music and the time in which the Dvořák family lived.

"Dear Mr. Director,
we are pleased to share with you our feelings and impressions of the theatre performance at your Musical Theatre Karlín. With our primary school Klíč Česká Lípa we visited the musical performance One Day at the Dvoraks. The overall concept and the acting performances of the individual protagonists (both adults and children) were of such a high standard that we did not hesitate to visit the authors and actors after the performance. The authors, Alena and Jan Pix, were very likable, best described by the fact that outstanding personalities tend to be modest. Some of the child actors said they were considering studying at AMU. The violinist was amazing, the pianist was also excellent, Dvořák's pieces are not easy to play on the piano, she did an admirable job. We were very impressed by the individual musical numbers, the interpretation was of a high standard. The performance was moving and brought tears to our eyes. In the music education lessons, but also in the children's personal lives, it even appeared that the children themselves sought out and listened to the musical excerpts that were played at the performance, such as the aria from Dvořák's Rusalka's Moon in the Deep Sky, the Largo from the New World Symphony, Moravian Double Songs and Humoreska. In the actual music education lessons, the children drew on your performance One Day at Dvořák's because the performance spoke to the children emotionally in a good way and left a deep mark. The sensitive treatment deepened their interest in classical music. On behalf of the entire team of children and teachers of the Klíč Primary School we would like to thank you for the performance of all participants and wish you many more similar performances, which we will be very happy to come again and draw good energy and inspiration." "We went to the performance on 19.4., it was absolutely great. Suitable for children from young ages to adults, and it provided a great u artistic experience for all. Beautiful set, including a video projection with period photos, great singers and actors. Even the young - child actors and actresses were excellent. Even the young children were not bored, and we gave them a lot of content on history and music education in an appropriately sensitive and tasteful way. Such a performance is infinitely better for them than an educational concert without theatrical performance, and yet they hear a selection of all the important pieces by A. Dvořák and as a bonus they also take away an idea of that time in all respects. That's really what I call u learning experience. Thank you very much!" O.K.
