Zahálka Martin
After wonderful years of childhood spent mostly in the Smíchov parks Mrázovka, Skalka or Doubková and in the company of his friends Vladi Franz, Tomáš Trávníček or Libor Holý, he spent four years at the Secondary Industrial School of Mechanical Engineering in Preslova Street. After his painful graduation, he protected his country for two years as a projectionist at the military cinema in Bor u Tachova. Then he was admitted to DAMU, where he graduated in acting in 1984 under the guidance of teachers Jana Hlaváčová, František Laurin and Jiří Klem. First engagement at the State Theatre in Brno (Oedipus), after a year and a half he moved to the J.K.Tyl Theatre in Pilsen (Don Juan, St. Wenceslas in Drahomíra and Sons, Bolkonský in War and Peace, Marlowe in The Rat King, Brick in Cat on a Hot Roof, Adam in Adam and Eve and many other roles). Seven of his best years at the theatre were interrupted by Jiřina Jirásková's offer and he became a member of the ensemble of the Vinohrady Theatre, where he has been acting ever since (Father Toulon in Red Noses, Oront in The Misanthrope, Peter in Theatrical Comedy, The Governor in The Mummer, Rudolf Deyl Sr. in Haszler and many others). He starred in the TV series Ordinace in the Rose Garden, Obchoďák, Policie Modrava, etc. He cooperates with radio and also does dubbing.
In the Musical Theatre Karlín he has the role of Mal Beineke in The Addams Family and in Bonnie & Clyde he plays two roles, the sheriff and Captain Frank Hammer.
