Urbánek Miroslav
He grew up in a musical family where both his parents are opera singers.
He began to study singing at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava in the class of Mgr. Miroslav Urbánek. There he performed in operas by Bohuslav Martinů, Ilja Hurník, Miloš Štědron.
In 2007 he completed his master's studies at the HAMU in the class of Prof. Miloslav Podskalski.
Within the HAMU Opera Studio he performed as Sparafucile in Verdi's opera Rigoletto, as Timagene in the Baroque opera Alessandro in India, as Colas in Mozart's opera Bastien and Bastienne, as Bartolo in W. A. Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro and as Ivan in B. Martinů's The Marriage.
Since 2006 he has been working with Kammer oper Prag (Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Japan).
In June 2006 he performed in Lukáš Hurník's musical opera The Angels at the National Theatre. Since the 2006/2007 season he has performed in Mozart's opera Don Giovanni as Comturo at the Silesian Theatre Opava. At OperaFest Carlsbad 2007 he performed as Masetto in Mozart's opera Don Giovanni.
Since the 2007/2008 season he has performed a number of roles for the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre Ostrava. For example. In the 2014/2015 season, he will appear as Max von Mayerling in the Czech premiere of the world musical Sunset Boulevard.
Since 2011 he has been performing in the project Classics Under the Stars /Nabucco, Carmen/.
Since the 2012/2013 season he has been a guest of the State Theatre Košice.
In 2008, he began to collaborate with the Municipal Theatre of Brno - Combeferre /Les Miserables/, Monster /Young Frankenstein/.
Apart from opera projects, he also works on oratorio and song compositions, Negro spirituals, songs by G. Gershwin and jazz standards /jazz Q, big band/.
