His father was a well-known actor and theatre scholar, playwright and translator from Russian Leoš Suchařípa. David Suchařípa was born on March 18, 1965, graduated from the Prague Conservatory and worked at the Regional Theatre in Příbram, the Drama Studio in Ústí nad Labem, in Kolín and in Hradec Králové, where, among other things, he portrayed Benedetto in Shakespeare's comedy Much Ado About Nothing, as well as Romeo and King Lear. Since 1996 he has been a freelance actor and has worked at the Prague Theatre Without Railings, the Drama Club, Na Fidlovačce at the Palace Theatre, the Kalich, Pod Palmovkou and other venues. He met his father on stage in Becket's Waiting for Godot. At the Summer Shakespeare Festival, he played alongside Jan Třísky in King Lear (2002), where he embodied Lear's faithful mentor Kent. In Romeo and Juliet where he played Lawrence, he also appeared in The Comedy of Errors (2008) where he played Solinus, Duke of Ephesus. He played the role of Cyrano in Quite a Grand Theatre. David Suchařípa has appeared in the films Fandy ó Fandy (1983), The Castle "Infinity" (1983), Vekslák aneb Staré zlaté časy (1994) and Waterloo po česku (2002). He has starred in the television series Ordinace in the Rose Garden, The Wild Country, Of Animals and Men and The Keeper of Souls and The Dark Country. He is also involved in music and sings under the pseudonym David Karibe in the band Kanibal. Suchařípa loves horses and he was able to use his riding skills in front of the camera as the king in Zdeněk Troška's film fairy tale The Devil's Bride (2011). He is also attracted by the adrenaline of rally racing and his hobbies include mountain hiking. He is a player of the Real Top Prague football team, composed of personalities from the field of culture and sports. He supports various charity projects. He is also a member of the group Golf Circus, which consists of the actor Pavel Nečas. They hold three Czech records and are listed in the Czech Book of Records. He also runs a wine shop and a restaurant.
