Sklenář Jan

Born in 1978 in Brno, after studying at the gymnasium in Tř. kpt. Jaroš and the J. Kvapil Art School, he graduated in 2001 from the Drama Department at the JAMU. He accepted an engagement at the award-winning Klicper Theatre in Hradec Králové, where he performed over 70 roles during 18 seasons (nominated for the Thalia Award - in 2009 the roles of Ignác in Jesters and Štamgast in Kudykam, in 2013 the role of Macheath in The Beggar's Opera).

He has been cast in major musical and drama projects in Prague: Kudykam (Štamgast, Kudykam) , Mowgli (Bagheera) , Romeo and Juliet (Romeo) LŠS at the Prague Castle, Legend called Holmes (Moriarty) ...

In r. 2020, he accepts an engagement at the Dlouhá Theatre in Prague (1st Critics' Award for Male Performance of 2022 in the role of the Queen of the Night - The Magic Flute - SKUTR of the i-divadlo portal and the Male Performance Award of the Grand Festival of Laughter Pardubice). Other roles include The Man in The Waltz of Chance, Karel Vas in Pravomil, Shlink in The Jungle of Cities, Boris in The End of the Red Man ...

He also plays at the Drama Club (Equus), at the Theatre on Fidlovačka (Smoke) and at the Uriáš Theatre in Karlin in The Angel of the Lord and is now studying Beetlejuice there.

He is a theatre and radio director, sings repertoire by Petr Hapka and Michal Horáček on PH and his shy guests, collaborated with Sonia Červená, and was the lead singer of the Police Symphony Orchestra for 6 seasons.

He believes in God and the harmony of nature and human abilities.
