Barbora Munzarová was born on 28 December 1971. Her parents are actors Ludek Munzarand Jana Hlaváčová. She has a sister Tereza, eight years older, who currently works as a city policewoman.
In her childhood, Bára played a lot of sports, and that's why she wanted to study at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport after high school. She chose DAMU as her second school, even though she had no experience with acting and her parents discouraged her from this career. Nevertheless, she was accepted and her future was decided.
After school she got an engagement at the Josef Kajetán Tyl Theatre in Pilsen, where her mother had started years ago. She worked there for five seasons and played such pivotal roles as Desdemona and Marysa. She also performed in operettas, and was even shortlisted for the Thalia Award for the lead role in the musical Holka nebo kluk, written by Antonín Procházka and based on the film of the same name with Adina Mandlová.
In 1999 she was offered an engagement at the Vinohrady Theatre and accepted. She met Jiří Dvořák there, whom she married in 2002 and they had a daughter, Anička. She is still working at the Vinohrady Theatre today, as well as her husband and her mother.
On television screens you could see Bára in the series The Place Above and Insurance for Happiness or in the TV movie Vanilla Scent.Since 2008, she has been starring in the TV series Ordinace v růžové zahradě 2,where she plays Dr. Pavla Barnova. She has lent her voice in dubbing, for example to the fish Dory from the animated film Finding Nemo. She performed at the 2006 and 2007 Summer ShakespeareFestivals. She can currently be seen in several plays at the Vinohrady Theatre.
