Nominated for a Tony Award for music and lyrics for the musical The Addams Family. Among his other works - music and lyrics: the Broadway musical Big Fish, the stage oratorio I Am Harvey Milk, which premiered in San Francisco in June 2013, where he also performed the role of Harvey Milk. He wrote the music for Aaron Sorkin's play The Farnsworth Invention. Other musicals: The Wild Party (libretto, music, lyrics - Drama Desk Award), A Little Princess (music), Jon & Jen ( music and co-written libretto), Asphalt Beach (music, lyrics), You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown (additional music and lyrics and musical arrangements). Andrew Lippa was the musical director for Kristin Chenoweth's sold-out shows at the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall and other concert halls. He has received Tony and Grammy Award nominations, the Gilman/Gonzales-Falla Theater Foundation Award, ASCAP's Richard Rogers/New Horizons Award, The Drama Desk Award, and The Outer Critics Circle Award. Andrew Lippa is a board member of The Dramatists Guild and a graduate of The University of Michigan School of Music.
