Košař Petr

He began his artistic career as an actor at the Semafor Theatre, where he performed in Jiří Suchý and Jiří Šlitr's play Poslední Štace (The Last Stage) from 1992. Due to his innate laziness, he soon realized that he would be more comfortable on the other side of the hall and became a sound engineer at Semafor. In 1994-1998 he worked as a microphone player and sound engineer on the now legendary performance of the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar. He is the owner of the first Czech musical news server www.musical.cz, which he founded in 1995. In the same year, director Petr Novotný brought him to the Karlín Musical Theatre for the sound direction of My Fair Lady, where he has worked ever since, creating sound design for musicals and operettas such as Hello Dolly, Dreams from New York, Sugar (Some Like It Hot), The Cage of Fools, Angel with the Devil in His Body, Rosemarie, Victor - Victoria, Behind the Sound of Music, Chicago, West Side Story, Night at Karlstejn, Jekyll & Hyde, The Producers, Lemonade Joe, The Princess of Chardonnay, Polish Blood and most recently Mamzelle Nitouche. In 1997 he made the first Czech recording of the musical Hello Dolly for Monitor-EMI. At the turn of 1998 and 1999, he created the sound design of the original Czech musical based on Antonín Dvořák's opera Rusalka, in the brand new Millennium Theatre in the Holešovice Market Hall, as well as the sound design of the fairytale musical Cinderella and the musical Old Men on Hops. In the Goja Music Hall at the Prague Exhibition Grounds in Holešovice he created the sound design of the famous musicals Les Misérables - Les Miserables (2003), Miss Saigon (2004) and The Phantom of the Opera (2014). This year he has already created the sound design for Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava and Dracula 2015 is his second production this year.
