Kolva Jurij
He was born in Ukraine. In 1986 he graduated from the Dance Conservatory in Kiev, Ukraine. Since 1990 he has worked in the Pavel Virsky Academic National Dance Ensemble. In 1995 he was invited to the Czech Republic to play the role of Krvinka in the original version of the musical Dracula.
Since 1999 he has been a soloist at the Prague State Opera where he has performed the roles of the Jester (Swan Lake, Cinderella), Puck (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Delight (Time of Pain), Sancho Panza (Don Quixote). He has appeared in many television shows and concerts with the group UNO, under the direction of Richard Hess. He has choreographed and performed dance roles in the Czech-produced films Secrets and Karamazov. He performed in the musicals The Count of Monte Cristo (main dance role), Beauty and the Beast, Missa, Keep Cool, Grease and others.
As a choreographer and teacher he cooperates with Czech and foreign figure skaters and the Ukrainian folklore ensemble Džerelo in Prague. He has choreographed the student musical Pekelný škvár. He is also the artistic director and choreographer of the full-length show "The Great Gatsby".
He is currently a freelance dancer at the National Theatre in Prague.
