Janota Lukáš

Janota Lukáš

Born 1983 in Zlín. He studied clarinet and saxophone at the Conservatory in Kroměříž. Graduated from JAMU in Brno, musical acting. After his studies he joined the MdB, where he has been working ever since. Already as a child he performed in three popular films for young people: "The Bears Don't Know Anything", "Arthur, Merlin and the Dwarfs" and "I Met Him at the Zoo". Currently, Lukas is at home in both musical and dramatic roles. He considers his biggest challenges so far to be his current roles as Malcolm McGregor in Donah!, Sir Galahad in Monty Python's Spamalot, Benjamin "Benny" Coffin III in RENT, and past performances of Promises of Error, Blood Brothers, Flashdance, Chaplin, and Saturday Night Fever. Yet, Luke says, "...that every role is a challenge and none is better than another." He now excels as Dr. Otternschlag (Grand Hotel), Edgar Fairfax Rochester (Jane Eyre), Dan (NO/ NORMAL) Mr. Wormwood (Matilda) and Edward Bloom (Big Fish), among others. Lukas is also an active musician and author. He has composed music for stage plays, two TV series, radio spots, computer games and mobile apps. He has also narrated several audiobooks. His wife Svetlana Janotová (née Slováková), also a member of MdB, is a great support in his acting and personal life.
