After studying acting at DAMU, he worked in 1980-83 at the Central Bohemian Theatre of J. Průcha in Kladno and Mladá Boleslav. He was given many rewarding opportunities there, e.g. Romeo (W. Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet), Thyl Ulenspiegel (Ch. Coster, G. Gorin: THYL ULENSPIEGEL), Orestes (Aeschylus: ORESTÉIA), Mowgli (V. Martinec, V. Martincová: THE BOOK OF JUNGLES), Arnostek (V. He became a member of the National Theatre Drama Department in 1983 and has created more than seventy roles there so far, maturing as an actor in various types, such as Toni (K. Čapek: MOTHER), Michal the Waterman (A. Jirásek: LUCERNA), Puck (W. Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night's Dream), Lucius (J. Drda: TOYS WITH THE DEVIL), Iago (W. Shakespeare: OTHELLO), Václav David (V. Štech: DAVID AND GOLIAS), Colonel Pickering (G. B. Shaw: PYGMALION), Valentin (J. W. Goethe: FAUST). Weygang (E. Jelinek: WHAT HAPPENED WHEN NORA LEFT HER HUSBAND), Aeneas (W. Shakespeare: TROILUS AND CRESSIDA), Bartolo (P. Beaumarchais: THE BLISSFUL DAY OR FIGAR'S WEDDING). He has been a teacher at the Prague Conservatoire of Music and Drama for many years, and has worked extensively in dubbing. On the boards of the Karlín Musical Theatre, he has brilliantly portrayed the character of Major in F. Hervey's operetta MAM'ZELLE NITOUCHE, the role of the father in the musical LUCIE, BIGGER THAN A SMALL MANY LOVE and currently the role of the sheriff in BONNI&CLYDE.
