Allen Norman

Playwright Norman Allen is the recipient of the prestigious Helen Hayes Award and two Emmy Awards for his screenplays for PBS-TV. Allen is the author of Nijinsky's Last Dance (Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Play) and In The Garden (Charles MacArthur Award for Outstanding New Play). Both plays premiered at the Signature Theatre in Washington, DC, and the former has also been performed in Budapest, Johannesburg, the Edinburgh Festival, and throughout the United States. Other titles: The Light of Excalibur, Coffee With Richelieu and Journey Home. Allen has written numerous television scripts and also contributes to the arts sections of The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, and Smithsonian Magazines.
