Why drama in musical theatre? More here
A comedy about three women's battle with a crazed killer using a time machine.
"Yesterday I Kill You!" is a brilliant comedy by a master of its genre, this time with elements of suspense. As always with Alan Ayckbourn, the many doors on stage play a significant role, through which the various characters come, go, pass each other and sometimes collide at precisely timed moments. This time, however, one of those doors has a privileged, prominent position - a leading role. These doors function like a time machine. They give the characters the opportunity to pass into the past. As the title suggests, the lives of some of the protagonists are at stake in this suspenseful comedy. And in a situation where murder must be prevented, it may be too late yesterday.
The world premiere of the play was on February 2, 1994 at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in The Round, Scarborough.
"It's a blockbuster. ... An immensely entertaining combination of a drawing-room thriller and an old Priestley play where the characters travel back in time. Ayckbourn, of course, has added countless piquant and fantastic details of his own. ... A must-see!"(New York Post)
"Inventive entertainment." (New York Times)
