Born in Budapest. She studied painting and art history at the University of San José in Costa Rica, where she worked as a stage designer at the National Theatre of Costa Rica. She continued her studies in Budapest at Eőtvős Lóránd University, Faculty of Social Sciences. She graduated in History and Philosophy of Art and went on to postgraduate studies in Theatre History and Theory. She has published articles on the expressive means of the stage.
In 1990, she wrote and published the book Theatrical Design at the Turn of the Century.
Along with her theoretical work, she was involved in the Hungarian underground, dance theatre and multimedia experiments, where she worked as an actress, dancer and designer.
She co-founded the "Pankrator Ballet Action Group" and created numerous "performances" and "happenings" in the 1990s. Since 1991 she has worked mainly as a costume designer for theatres not only in Hungary but also in England, Denmark, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Sweden. In 1991 she won the Hungarian award for Best Costume Design, she is a four-time winner of the Hungarian Critics' Prize, the Slovak DOSKI Critics' Prize for Best Costume Design (also nominated for Best Scenic Design) and in Sweden she was nominated for Best Costume Design. She paints, participates in exhibitions and in 2004 had a solo exhibition under the title DE/SIGNS. In 2007 she created new costumes for the operetta The Princess of Chardonnay for the Karlín Music Theatre.
